Assessment

Targets are set internally for each class whereby the children aim to reach particular goals before they move on to either the next class or their future schools. Children will develop ‘at their own pace’ and each child’s development is closely monitored and the curriculum is applied accordingly.

Some of the goals that we focus on are

PHYSICAL GOALS:

  1. Gross motor skills development
  2. Fine motor skills development
  3. Hand-eye coordination

SOCIAL GOALS:

  1. Understanding School rules
  2. Sharing and caring for each other.
  3. Understanding separation from parents
  4. Enjoying role play and dramatics.

COGNITIVE GOALS:

  1. Ask and answer questions
  2. Follow directions.
  3. Work towards personal goals.
  4. Recognise numbers
  5. Understand the concept of 'similar' and 'different'.

LANGUAGE GOALS:

  1. Identifying their name.
  2. Speak in fairly complex sentences.
  3. Reciting the alphabet
  4. Communicate their feelings.
